Study on Dental Prosthesis Status for Community Oral Health Promotion Project in Wonju

The aim of this study was to collect data to establish mid and long term plans of oral health promotion project for Wonju citizens. This study was a self-administered questionnaire survey on citizens visiting the oral health education booth at the Wonju Citizens¡¯ Health Day. The contents of the survey were about the last year¡¯s visit to the oral health education booth, the education contents, the status of individual dental prosthesis care. The data were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 statistical program. The average age was 69.4 years, and 25% of subjects visited to the booth. Eighty eight percent of subjects had more than one dental prosthesis, and 64.3% of them had fixed prosthesis. The rate of subjects having denture was 6.7% in the 50s and below, but 73.7% in the 80s and over. On the other hand, implants showed similar retention rates at all ages. In conclusions, these findings can be used to plan the educational activities of the Oral Health
Promotion Center which is held annually according to the characteristics of the participants of the education booth and to enhance the educational effect.
